According to the report, by 2019, more than 115,000 terabytes of mobile and tablet PC mobile data traffic will be offloaded to Wi-Fi, which is less than 30,000 octets this year, meaning that by 2019 there will be almost Triple the growth.

The author of the Juniper Research report said: "Wi-Fi is ubiquitous on most mobile devices, including smart phones, tablets PC, and smart watches. Wi-Fi is already available. Indoor Wi-Fi usage is very high. Even higher than the mobile network."

At the same time, in the past few years, operators have been increasingly using their own Wi-Fi networks or partner Wi-Fi hotspots to divert those dense data users from their cellular networks.

Juniper said that by 2022, North America and Western Europe accounted for more than 50% of the globally unloaded mobile data traffic.
However, the penetration level in the second half of the forecast period, especially in North America and Asia Pacific, is expected to decline gradually, mainly because users will become more and more ubiquitous in using 4G and will start to use WI-FI more. 5G faster network."
